Our School

Our school was founded in 2007 and is located in Esker Lane, Lucan.  We cater for pupils in Lucan and its environs.


We operate under a charter which guarantees children and parents of all faiths and none equal respect in the operation and governing of education.


Our Curriculum emphasises literacy, numeracy and language. It responds to changing needs in science and technology, social personal and health education, and citizenship.

Letter to parents re Visit of President Michael D. Higgins Monday 20th at 11;30 am

Visit of President Michael D. Higgins on Monday 20th November. Revised time 11;30am Please read carefully the letter sent home today Thursday with revised details about the visit. This letter contains lots of details about the day, the party for the children and arrangements for the day. I have copied and pasted it below Please note change of time: Invited guests (holders of invitations) to be in the hall at 11:30 am and not 10:30 as previously advised. Junior and Senior Infants going home at 3 pm instead of 2 pm on the day for 10th Anniversary Party. The President’s office contacted us last night to say that due to unforeseen circumstances, the President’s visit to our school has to be put back by one hour. This means that all guests must be seated in the school hall at 11:30 am (and not 10:30 as written on the invitation). Everybody is really excited and working hard to make this another great day in our school. Our sculpture will be unveiled and we will be celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Esker Educate Together N.S. We wanted to give you some guidelines before the big day to avoid any confusions. We would like to say a huge thank you to our PTA for all of their help with this event, and to all our parent volunteers who have offered to help on the Sunday and Monday. We couldn’t do this without you all. Please note that the PTA are sponsoring the very exciting party for your children. School day The school opens as usual at 9.20 am for all children and will finish at 3:00 for infants (not 2pm) and also 3:00 as usual the rest of the children. The late home time for infants is due to the later arrival of the President, pushing back the children’s party by an hour. We ask that if you are attending the ceremony, you do not take your child home early because we will have celebrations for the children from 1:40 to 3 pm. Children do not need to bring school bags on this day. Parking There is no parking at all in the school for parents or teachers on Monday 20th November. Parents and teachers may park at the Castle Road entrance. We would advise you to walk, scoot or cycle to school that day as parking will be very restricted. You will be allowed in the school gates to drop off your children or dessert donations to school between 9:00 and 9:20am. All cars must be out of the school grounds at 9.30am. Please be clear, even if you have a ticket to the event, there is no parking for parents. The 34 spaces are reserved for our invited guests who are not parents of the school. Going home time All children, Infants to 6th are going home at the same time 3 pm on Monday. Please avoid driving into the school to collect your children to avoid traffic problems in the school grounds. Desserts Parent and owner of Lakeview Café in City West, Mr. Khan is catering the main course lunch for the celebration. We are asking our parents and teachers to make cakes and desserts for event. Please can you mark all containers with your child’s name and class. If the dessert is Halal, can you label it as Halal clearly. Desserts can be dropped off on Monday (20th November) morning between 8.45am – 9.15am at the side entrance, at the front of the building (where 3rd and 4th exit the building). There will be teachers there on that morning, accepting your kind donations. Protocols We have been instructed that while the President is here, that this is a very formal event, and we have to follow the strict protocols that have been provided to us by the Protocol Office 1. Guests are advised that informal photographs of the President may be taken, but given time constraints, the President SHOULD NOT be asked to pose for photographs/sign autographs. 2. Guest are advised that MOBILE PHONES ARE TURNED OFF. 3. If you are in conversation with the President, he should be addressed as President, a Uachtarain, or President Higgins. 4. At the end of the official programme, the President will be introduced to the faith / non faith representatives. He has indicated he would like to mingle with guests, but given the time constraints, he will only be able to meet a small few. Tickets If you were picked for the lottery, you will have received your tickets by now. If you haven’t already done so, please RSVP as soon as possible. YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW YOUR TICKETS ON THE DAY TO ACCESS THE HALL. If you do not have a ticket, you will not get in, so please do not turn up. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU CANNOT PARK IN THE SCHOOL GROUNDS. Parents who have tickets are advised that babies and young children are not allowed in the hall on that day. We have two groups of guests. We have invited local Politicians, principals, faith and non-faith representatives and relatives of the staff. These are our invited guests. Parents who have tickets are our parent guests. The Day 8.45 – 9.45am Dropping off cakes to the side entrance 9.10 am Children line up as normal in the yard. 9.30 All cars cleared from school grounds. 11:20-11:30 Guest with Tickets arrive to the hall and take their seats 12.00 President arrives and guests make their way to the sculpture 12.15 Return to hall (to the same seat) for ceremony 12.50 The departure of the President is announced 1.00 Invited guest to go for lunch (first sitting). Parent guests to go to child’s classroom in the school. 1.30 Parent guests will be called to lunch (second sitting) 1;45. Entertainment begins for the children. Entertainment for children: The PTA have organised and paid for a big celebration for the children once the President leaves. This will start about 1:40 pm in the hall and continue until 3 pm. Popcorn or candyfloss will be provided, and the circus is coming to town!
