CLOVER is a super literacy programme we run here in Esker for Junior Infants with thanks to South Dublin Libraries. It stands for Children Love Reading. SD libraries sponsor us and enable us to provide a story book pack for every Junior Infant child. The aim of the programme is to promote literacy in the home. We met with the parents and our local Lucan librarian, Laura, to demonstrate to parents how to get the most out of story books and how to engage their children in reading.
All families from our school are especially welcome to join Lucan Library (beside Supervalue). There are many free services available for all ages.
Parents have been coming into our class every Friday, to share their love of books and stories with the Junior Infants. Thank you to all involved.
We will be taking our trip to the library in March. We cannot wait!
