Active Travel Week

This week is Active Travel Week in Esker ETNS. Each day the teachers will find out how many children in their class travel to and from school in an active way. Children can WALK, CYCLE OR SCOOT to school. The class that has the highest number of children travelling in an active way will WIN their class an EXTRA PE lesson.

Maths Stations

In September we started our Maths stations in 4th class green. The topics we covered in Maths were Lines and Angles, Place Value and Data. We have been doing lots of revision of our multiplication tables too. We learned about horizontal, vertical, diagonal, parallel, perpendicular and oblique lines. We also spent time learning about right angles, obtuse angles and acute angles. At one of the maths stations the children used lollipop sticks to show the various lines and angles, and they made pictures incorporating them. The children have also had a chance to play many multiplication games that give them practice using their multiplication tables.
Health and Wellbeing week was held here in Esker ETNS from September 18th-22nd. The aim of the week was to learn about ways of taking care of our physical, emotional and mental health. Tuesday's Theme was MOVE MORE and the focus of the day was all about physical activity. During the day the children took plenty of movement breaks using different types of exercise; GoNoodle dancing, Chair Yoga, and of course later in the day we had our 'Walk a Mile with a Smile'. It was great for the children to get active and try lots of different fun activities on the day.
